Director of Research,

Dr. Rebecca Gadd is Deputy Director of Research at the International Institute for the Brain (iBRAIN) where she plans, develops, and executes multi- and interdisciplinary research initiatives to advance understanding of brain injuries and related disorders. She has nearly 20 years of experience as a researcher, classroom teacher, teacher educator, district administrator, and school leader focused on translating educational research into impactful educational practice. She focuses on supporting teachers to learn, develop, transform, and enact practice in ways that promote justice and the highest quality outcomes for underserved student populations, including students with disabilities. She has expertise in practice-based teacher education, design-based research, action research, special education, literacy instruction and interventions, social-emotional learning and development, and teacher leadership.
Dr. Gadd earned her PhD in Educational Studies from the University of Michigan, her Master of Science in Special Education from Hunter College, and her BA in English and Religious Studies from New York University.
